Kisan cricket league is being played for the Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial “CUP of HOPE”. Anil Shastri, the son of legendary former PM of India is the Chief Patron of the event. He carries the legacy of simplicity and honesty.
NEW DELHI: The registrations can be made online on www.kisancricket.com website or Kisan Cricket Application that will be launched on the same day. A helpline will also be set up for providing assistance in registrations.
Youngsters between 17-24 years coming from rural background can apply by submitting their age and domicile proof. Each applicant will have to submit a video of them while playing as per the guidelines provided. This exercise will be the largest ever video audition in the world and is expected to draw traction from millions of people. A nominal registration fee will be payable along with each application.
Categories: Aspiring Players can apply as a batsman, fast or spin bowler, wicket keeper or an all-rounder. After scrutiny and shortlisting, approximately 5000 players will be called for selection trials in 1 city from each zone of India. Finally about 200 players will be selected to feature in 8 teams.
The teams are:
- Mighty Himalayans, Frontier Gabroos, Birsa Boys, Awadhi Brothers, Eastern Eagles, Sahyadri Rangers, Oruvan Thalaivas & Western Tharyans
In addition to winner’s trophy and prize of ₹20 lacs, runners up will get a trophy and ₹10 lacs. Other major rewards are:
Gram Gaurav Puruskar & State Pagdi for the best player from each state. These players will be provided a ₹3 lac retainer-ship for 1 year and they will be trained with professional coaches to improve their skills.
Man of the Series, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Allrounder, Best Fielder, Crowds Favorite Player etc. will also be given special prizes.
Kisan Cricket League Matches will start with from 25th February with the first match between Sahyadri Rangers and Frontier Gabroos. The closing ceremony and finals will be played on 21 March, 2019.
The matches will be telecast live on 2 national sports channels. The selection process and all the matches will be web streamed on a specially designed portal and app.
Registrations for Four contests will start on 21st January 2019. The contests are:
- The Fan of the Season for each team. They will be the official flag bearers of their teams.
- Singers of specially recorded 14 anthems in 12 languages. Winners will get an opportunity to sing at the closing ceremony.
- Commentators contest in 10-12 Indian Languages. Winners will be part of the live commentary team.
- Anchors & Presenters contest in 10 languages. Winners will host studio shows and ground events of KISAN CRICKET.
